In response to a critical bed shortage and a rapidly growing population in the San Fernando Valley, a small group of civic leaders, led by Mr. Al Ghirardelli, caravanned to Fresno to invite the Sisters of the Holy Cross to build a hospital in Mission Hills.

United by a shared sense of purpose, the Sisters came together to establish the hospital, founded on principles of service and dedication to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of those who were sick.

Through their steadfast commitment to the Mission, the Sisters laid the foundation for a lasting legacy of care.
