Providence St. Elias Specialty Hospital’s Jessica Oswald to lead state’s largest hospital
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Providence Alaska has named Jessica Oswald chief administrative officer of Providence Alaska Medical Center, effective Oct. 5, 2026.
In this role, Oswald will provide executive leadership and operational oversight for the hospital’s clinical and support service lines, working closely with the chief medical officer and chief nursing officer to advance strategic priorities, achieve organizational goals, and enhance the delivery of patient care.
Oswald brings more than 15 years of leadership experience with Providence, having held key roles in acute care operations, shared services and enterprise transformation. Currently, she is CAO of Providence St. Elias Specialty Hospital, where she has advanced clinical quality, operational performance, growth and caregiver engagement.

Under Oswald’s leadership, St. Elias was ranked among the nation's top 50 rehabilitation hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, out of more than 1,100 hospitals evaluated. The hospital also earned Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International accreditation for its Stroke Specialty Program and Brain Injury Specialty Program, recognizing excellence in specialized rehabilitation care.
Before joining Providence, Oswald worked in engineering at GE Aviation. She holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Norwich University and a master's degree in engineering and management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, holds an Alaska nursing home administrator license and serves on the executive committee of the Alaska Hospital & Healthcare Association board.

Outside of work, Oswald enjoys time with family and friends, hiking, skiing, and exploring Alaska’s outdoors. She and her husband, Carl, are proud parents of three children and share their home with their two dogs, Akwe and Gracie.
