This past June, the medical center marked its 20th anniversary, caregivers, patients and community members are reflecting on the vision and community support that helped make it possible.

When Providence Newberg Medical Center opened its doors on June 16, 2006, it represented years of planning, fundraising and partnership with the community. From the beginning, the medical center was designed to improve access to care while creating a welcoming healing environment for patients and families.

The hospital also earned national recognition as the first Gold LEED certified hospital in the United States, reflecting a commitment to environmental stewardship and community health.

A legacy of innovation and healing

Over the years, Providence Newberg has grown alongside the community it serves. From its Healing Garden to artwork created by local students through the Youthful Art of Healing project, the campus was built around the belief that healing extends beyond medical treatment.

Twenty years later, Providence Newberg Medical Center continues to provide personalized care close to home while adapting to the evolving needs of the community. The anniversary offers an opportunity to celebrate the patients, caregivers and supporters who have helped shape the medical center's story and continue its mission of serving others with compassion.
