Providence invested more than $271 million in Oregon communities

2020 was a year like no other. In Oregon, Providence patients and caregivers alike faced the  devastating effects of COVID-19 and wildfires – both of which swept through the state bringing increased isolation, houselessness, critical health care needs, food insecurity and financial brokenness.

Giving back to our communities is at the core of our Mission, which calls us to serve all, especially the poor and vulnerable. The 2020 Community Benefit Report details how Providence answered that call by investing more than $271 million in our communities last year. This included nearly $61 million in free and low-cost care and more than $6.5 million in community grants.

Our community giving addresses specific needs:

  • Increasing access to primary and dental care and culturally responsive services
  • Improving behavioral health services
  • Working to prevent, diagnose and treat chronic conditions
  • Addressing social determinants of health

Please read our 2020 report and see a few of the ways Providence caregivers are improving health and well-being for all Oregonians. Thank you for being part of this work.
