RN Residency Program Receives Distinction Accreditation

October 6, 2021 Hilary Alison

The Providence Clinical Academy RN Residency Program, including 23 ministries, was successfully re-designated with Distinction by the Accreditation with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  Sheri Cosme DNP, RN, NPD-BC, Director, Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP) from the ANCC joined a team of nursing leaders at Providence to deliver the great news. PTAP with Distinction is the highest national recognition RN transition in practice program can receive and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring every newly graduated RN is successfully supported to bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional expectation.  Providence and the family of organization offers one of the largest system-wide, accredited RN Residency Programs in the United States.  The Providence Nursing Institute Clinical Academy, led by LeAnn Ogilvie, MSN, MHA, RN, has enrolled over 13,300 RNs since 2016 and appreciates a first-year RN retention that is more than 50% higher than all other retention within Providence.

Congratulations to the Providence Clinical Academy team, including every ministry-based RN Clinical Educator, RN Manager, Directors/Executive Director, and CNO who support delivering this high-quality program to our RNs every day!

Providence Clinical Academy RN Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.
