Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance earned recognition this week in Newsweek’s third annual list of the World’s Best Hospitals, which ranked hospitals across 21 countries. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

This recognition is a testament to our hardworking physicians and caregivers who have worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic to bring the highest level of care and compassion to our community.” said Garry Olney, Chief Executive at Providence Little Company of Mary.
Olney attributed the honors at Little Company of Mary in part to collaboration among experts across the seven-state, 51-hospital Providence health care system and to the dedication across-the-board to the organization’s mission, values and promise of “Know me, care for me, ease my way.” Little Company of Mary is a Magnet Hospital, a national accreditation that indicates the hospital’s nurses are in the top 6 percent in the nation in terms of quality
Newsweek and Statista developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Three data sources were used for the evaluation: hospital recommendations from peers, patient experience and medical KPIs: patient safety, hygiene measures, and quality of treatment.
Newsweek compiled the list to help its readers understand the changes sweeping the health care industry. Providence Little Company of Mary is committed to meeting the needs of an industry that has shifted from hospital-based to consumer-based, one that expects quality, convenience, technology and affordability.
