Providence has named Peter Kang, MDiv, MA, chief mission integration officer for the LA-Coastal Service Area, effective Aug. 25. Kang brings more than 22 years of executive leadership experience in not-for-profit ministries, with a strong focus on caregiver renewal, community-centered care and advocacy for the underserved.
He joins Providence from Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, where he oversaw $1.1 million in grant funding to address community health needs. At Dignity Health French Hospital Medical Center, he expanded bioethics consults, improved patient experience scores and co-founded the hospital’s first DEI committee.
Kang holds two graduate degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary and is completing a master’s in health care administration. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Catholic Health Association.
In his new role, Kang will lead mission integration efforts across Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers in Torrance and San Pedro.
