RENTON, Wash., Feb. 22, 2023 – Providence, a not-for-profit health system serving the Western U.S., announced today the launch of an expanded education program with Guild, the leader in opportunity creation for America’s workforce. The new program will enable almost 100,000 eligible caregivers to explore and pursue best-in-class educational opportunities designed to meet individual needs and achieve personal and professional goals through customized development coaching.
Providence is committed to being one of the best places to work and grow a career by inspiring, developing, and easing the way of every caregiver. For years, the Providence family of organizations has offered tuition reimbursement programs with added opportunities for up to 100% paid tuition assistance for select programs. The Providence Education Benefit Program with Guild builds upon this offering, making it easier and more accessible for caregivers to obtain the skills and experience they need to develop their careers and help Providence build the health care workforce of the future.
“Health care systems around the nation are experiencing staffing shortages. At Providence, we believe the growth and development of our valued caregivers are key to our success,” said Darci Hall, Providence’s vice president of talent effectiveness and development. “Many have used our existing education offerings to excel in their careers with Providence. We’re excited our partnership with Guild will help us expand access to affordable education and enhance the experience to increase our caregivers’ success.”
Starting on their first day of employment, eligible full-time, part-time, and per-diem caregivers will have access to a selection of programs at high-quality learning providers, including undergraduate and graduate degrees, professional certificates, high school completion, and English language learning classes. These programs are designed for professionals and are available in a wide variety of high-demand fields – from bachelor’s programs in radiologic sciences, respiratory therapy, and RN to BSN, along with other programs in social work, health care administration, and more. The offerings are key to Providence’s efforts in addressing the national health care workforce crisis by investing in the ongoing growth and development of its existing workforce.
