RENTON, Wash., May 7, 2021 – Providence is pleased to announce that Mark Gross will assume the role of associate vice president, chief communication officer for Washington and Montana starting May 17, 2021. Mark will be Liz DeRuyter’s successor, who has served in this role for four years and will retire at the beginning of June 2021.
Mark will be overseeing all communications in the Washington and Montana region, including caregiver communication, community relations, crisis communication, executive communication, issues management, physician and caregiver engagement, media relations, and social media.
Mark brings 15 years of communication leadership experience to this role. Since joining Providence in 2015, Mark held several roles, most recently as the executive director of national communication, and has been instrumental in building one of the best national communication teams in health care. Prior to joining Providence, Mark led communication and public relation initiatives at Wunderman Thompson, the Rightside Group and Matter Group, LLC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a specialization in public relations from Seattle University. Mark, a strong animal protection advocate, also volunteers at PAWS, an animal rescue based in Lynnwood, Wash.
