Dr. Joanne Roberts on health facilities and virtual visits

As many systems are limiting visitation at their hospitals, health facilities are turning to tools such as Zoom for virtual visits. Dr. Joanne Roberts, senior vice president and chief value officer, said the main reason the system put the strict visitor restrictions in place was to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

"Our communities have been wonderful in supporting whatever measures we believe will reduce transmission in our facilities and in our communities," Roberts said. "These decisions have been made with community input, and while they are painful for all, they are highly supported."
