Daniel Spoon, M.D., has been selected as the role of Chief Medical Officer for Providence Montana Service Area, effective September 22, 2025.
Dr. Spoon, a native of Montana, also serves as the Director of Research for Providence Montana and the Cardiovascular Medical Director of the Providence Clinical Innovation Institute. His academic journey includes education at the University of Notre Dame and the Mayo Clinic. He is widely recognized for his significant contributions to cardiovascular innovation and his pioneering leadership in clinical research and clinical trials in rural settings.
Dr. Spoon brings a deep passion for teamwork, innovation, and the highest standards of patient care. He is highly respected—locally and nationally—as both a cardiac physician and a clinical researcher, consistently demonstrating unwavering dedication to advancing medical practices.
As a dynamic and visionary leader who is deeply rooted in Western Montana, Dr. Spoon is eager to build upon the tradition of excellence established by our hospitals and medical community. In his new role, Dr. Spoon will work closely with medical staff and physician division chiefs to provide medical oversight to our hospitals and clinics and will play a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of care at Providence Montana.
