Providence St. Patrick Hospital earns CMS 5 Star rating for 10 consecutive years

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced its findings for 2026, and Providence St. Patrick Hospital received a 5-Star rating, the highest award, for the 10th consecutive year, from 2017 -2026.

A 5-star CMS rating means a hospital ranks among the best in the nation for patient care quality. It indicates top-tier performance across five key areas: mortality, safety of care, readmissions, patient experience, and timely/effective care.

St. Pat’s was one of only four hospitals in Montana from 385 hospitals nationwide that were awarded 5 stars.

With this 5-Star rating patients can:

  • Use the rating as an objective, reliable tool to compare St. Pat’s clinical outcomes and safety records against regional and national averages.
  • Know that St. Pat’s demonstrates superior performance in avoiding complications, minimizing hospital readmissions, and delivering a positive, comfortable patient environment.
