Who is the face of Medicaid?

90 percent of Americans think Medicaid is important to our health care system. That is, once they understand it.

A survey conducted by Providence St. Joseph Health found that over 50 percent of U.S. consumers are connected to Medicaid either directly as beneficiaries or indirectly through someone they know who has had to rely on Medicaid at some point.

The program is a safety net for millions. But with so many patients relying on Medicaid, hospital systems are having to find new ways to treat this growing population, while creating better outcomes and lowering costs. Read more...
