Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital #1 in Eastern Washington for Fifth Year in a Row

In Eastern Washington, Sacred Heart Medical Center, Holy Family Hospital and Mount Carmel Hospital were all recognized for high performance in multiple areas.

Spokane, Wash. — Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital has been recognized as a Best Hospital in the region. U.S. News & World Report named Sacred Heart #1 in Eastern Washington. It also recognized the Medical Center, Providence Holy Family Hospital, and Providence Mount Carmel Hospital as high performing in more than a dozen adult procedures and conditions.

The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in its 32nd year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.

For the 2021-22 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,750 medical centers nationwide in 15 specialties and 17 procedures and conditions. In the 15 specialty areas, 175 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals as high performing across multiple areas of care.

The U.S. News Best Hospitals methodologies in most areas of care are based largely on objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and discharge-to-home rates, volume, and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.

  • Stroke
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
Holy Family Hospital ranked high performing in the following specialties and procedures:

Mount Carmel Hospital ranked high performing in the following specialties and procedures:
  • Hip Fracture
