  • Providence Institute for a Healthier Community recently provided free school supplies and wellness resources at a back-to-school event hosted by the Edmonds School District.
  • Providence Swedish caregivers are committed to improving the well-being of their neighbors, friends, families, and patients through community partnerships.
  • Providence Swedish is working to reduce widespread educational disparities among Snohomish County residents.

Recently, Providence Institute for a Healthier Community (PIHC) participated in the Edmonds School District Back-To-School Fair at Alderwood Middle School. PIHC offered information for www.LiveWellLocal.org, a resource hub, highlighting parks and recreation activities.

The back-to-school fair supports families in need in the Edmonds School District by providing students free school supplies. PIHC Community Health Education Program Manager Jessica Stallings, noted it was “wonderful having a presence at the back-to-school-fair, and we saw over 1,600 students and families.” Students in attendance were provided supplies, backpacks, health screenings and resources from several community-based organizations. Lynnwood Rotary Club also provided free meals for attendees.

PIHC pursues opportunities for Providence Swedish North Puget Sound to align with local community partners supporting Snohomish County. According to PIHC caregivers, having a physical and visible presence in the community “shows our solidarity and support for the people we serve and reflects our Mission of being steadfast in serving all.”

Providence Swedish North Puget Sound caregivers are members of the communities they serve. Attending events like the back-to-school fair demonstrates their commitment to improving the health and well-being of their neighbors, friends, families and patients.

We are grateful for our caregivers’ generosity and service, and for our partnership with the Edmonds School District and other community organizations. Together we’re supporting the education and health of our future leaders. Check out other ways Providence Swedish serves the community.
