Placing in the top 25 percent of FY20 net production returns qualifies Providence in both the "overall" and "healthcare system" categories.
Providence has once again been ranked among the top high-performing health care fundraisers in North America by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).
The result reflects the combined efforts of Providence's 40+ foundations across its seven-state footprint — Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon, New Mexico, Texas and Washington.
Providence's sixth-straight year as high performer
Providence is recognized in both the "High Performer: Overall" and "High Performer: Healthcare System" categories as a result of AHP's 2021 Report on Giving (using data from fiscal year 2020). The report reviewed information submitted by 166 respondents from the U.S. and 16 respondents from Canada. Providence's family of foundations have consistently been recognized among the industry's high performers since 2016.
"Kudos and gratitude to everyone on our philanthropy teams for finding a path forward through the chaos of the pandemic in fiscal year 2020—inspiring donors to trust Providence with their collective investments of more than $315M to do good work in their communities," said Laurie Kelley, Providence senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer.
Overall high performers meet AHP's traditional criteria of the top 25 percent in net production returns across all respondents in the annual Report on Giving. In fiscal year 2020, these high performers raised more than $19 million in the U.S. and more than $22.7 million in Canada.
Providence philanthropy revenue 10x qualifying threshold
High performers in the Healthcare System category represent those that reached the top 25 percent in net fundraising revenue out of all participating U.S. health care systems, raising more than $29.6 million.
"Providence again ranks among the leaders of nonprofit health care philanthropy, said Alice Ayres, president and chief executive officer of AHP. "Building on its legacy of charity and through strong organizational commitment, philanthropy is making a significant impact in Providence-served communities. Congratulations to Providence's family of foundations.
