Chamber of Commerce names San Pedro Nonprofit of the Year

June 16, 2016

Recently, at the June San Pedro Chamber of Commerce 2016 Annual Business Awards and Board Installation Luncheon, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro was named Nonprofit of the Year. Caroline Brady, executive director of the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and San Pedro Chamber of Commerce board member, was last year’s recipient and she presented the award to Anne Lemaire, PLCMMCSP administrator and Mary Kingston, chief executive, South Bay Community. PLCMMCSP was recognized for its 90 years of serving the Harbor and Peninsula communities. The medical center will also be expanding its Emergency Department and other programs to meet local demands for quality healthcare in the local community.

At the luncheon, LaRae Mardesic Bechmann, senior director of development at the Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation, was installed for another term on the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce board of directors. The newly-installed chamber board is pictured with Joe Buscaino, city councilman for the 15th District.
