August 14, 2018

Mission Hospital has been ranked the No. 7 hospital in the Los Angeles metro area by U.S. News and World Report, among the top 3 in Orange County, and No. 12 in the state of California. Nationally, Mission Hospital received high ratings in the areas of gastroenterology and GI surgery; and, pulmonology. Mission Hospital was ranked as a high performing hospital in several key specialty areas including neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, urology, nephrology, diabetes and endocrinology, and more.

“This is a shining testament of the efforts of our nurses, physicians and staff at Mission Hospital and their relentless pursuit of excellence in providing exceptional care to our patients,” said Tarek Salaway, chief executive of Mission Hospital. “As one of the highest ranked hospitals in Orange County, it is a privilege to serve as we provide our community confidence in the care they receive, defined by excellence, compassion and dignity.”

U.S. News and World Report Hospitals rankings help patients make informed decisions in their medical team and place of care. U.S. News and World Report analyzes outcome data from nearly 5,000 medical centers and survey responses from more than 30,000 physicians to rank hospitals in 16 adult specialties from cancer to urology. Survival rates, patient safety, specialized services, patient experience and hospital clinical reputation were among the factors weighed. Across the country, only 158 hospitals ranked in at least one of the specialties in 2018-19. See the full list of the Los Angeles and Orange County hospital rankings.
