Only hospital in South Bay region to win this honor, 1 of just 8 in California

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance has been selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2018 Best Places to Work in Healthcare, making it the only hospital in the South Bay to win this honor and 1 of just 8 in California. This award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey.

“It is an honor to be recognized by Modern Healthcare for the 2018 Best places to work. We focus on creating an empowered and satisfied workforce, with the tools and resources our employees need to succeed,” said Mary Kingston, chief executive, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers. “This recognition is very meaningful because it is the employees themselves who shared their feedback through an extensive employee survey.”

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance will be honored at the 2018 Best Places to Work in Healthcare awards gala in September 2018 in Dallas, Texas.

“Whether on the frontline or in the top office, health care employees witness moments that can either inspire or dishearten them. Organizations must take extra steps to ensure that highs and lows during the workday don’t impact engagement or performance,” said Modern Healthcare Editor Aurora Aguilar. “This year’s best places to work, voted on by the employees themselves, exemplify what it takes to maintain dedication and satisfaction among its employees and that is the key to good patient care. Congratulations to this year’s winners.”
