The 2022 Walk to Remember event will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, in Parking Structure 2 (PS2) at Providence Alaska Medical Center and continue to University Lake.

The Walk to Remember is a nationwide annual event that occurs in recognition of all pregnancy losses, including miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, fetal deaths and neonatal deaths, as well as the loss of a child. The Walk to Remember is sponsored by the Providence Alaska Children’s Hospital Bereavement Council.

The rest of the nation commemorates this day in October, but because of Alaska's early snowfall, the event is held here each August. Once the walk reaches University Lake, a few words are spoken in memory of those who have passed.

This is a family friendly event and all are invited.
