Bioethics for a Better World Season 2, Special Episode: Honzel Lecture, Caring in Times of Cruelty

July 1, 2026

Several times each year, the Providence Center for Health Care Ethics hosts funded lectureships in a hybrid format for all caregivers across the system. Each June, the Andy & Bev Honzel Endowed Chair in Applied Health Care Ethics offers a lecture, often in concert with others. In June of 2025, Kevin Dirksen, the current chair, along with ethicists Mark Carr and Jennifer Dunatov gave the lecture “Caring in Times of Cruelty: Moral Medicine for the Dolorous Healer.” Please enjoy this recap of the lecture, shortened for podcast format.
