Afib Uncovered: Your Complete Guide to a Healthy Heart

Aseem Desai, MD, FHRS is a Stanford-trained cardiologist with over 20 years of experience caring for patients with heart rhythm disorders. His clinical practice includes catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular contractions, and ventricular tachycardia, using robotic, pulsed field, radiofrequency, and cryoballoon technologies. He also performs electrical cardioversion, implantable loop recorder placement, long-term rhythm monitoring, and tilt table testing. He co-directs Mission Heritage Heart Rhythm Specialists and frequently evaluates patients referred for palpitations, unexplained dizziness or syncope, exercise intolerance, recurrent arrhythmias, and persistent symptoms despite medical therapy or unrevealing initial testing. He works closely with referring clinicians to co-manage patients, clarify diagnosis, guide treatment options, and support shared decision-making over time. Dr. Desai is the author of Restart Your Heart: The Playbook for Thriving with AFib, a contributor to Psychology Today, and a former Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago.
