Hear Me Now: The dignity of a name

During her years of homelessness, it meant a lot to Jessica when someone remembered her name. Today, as a medical assistant with the Providence Mobile Health Clinic in Santa Rosa, Calif., she brings care to hundreds of vulnerable and unhoused people each week, and makes it her personal mission to know each of them by name. Listen to her conversation with Jennifer about their work.

Hear Me Now is a storytelling program at Providence, initially created in partnership with StoryCorps. Hear Me Now’s mission is to give patients, loved ones, and caregivers a sacred space to share their stories and make healthcare more humane.
