Spokane, Wash. — The Providence Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Program at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center+ for Knee and Hip Replacement by Premera Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. A national designation, this program recognizes health care providers who demonstrate expertise in delivering quality care, affordable cost, treatment expertise and better overall patient results.

“We are honored to receive this designation recognizing our commitment to providing the highest quality care at an affordable cost for our orthopedic patients,” says Jeremiah Clinton, M.D. and Orthopedics Medical Director for Providence Health Care. “Consumers understand they have a choice for their care, and this distinction helps validate the quality and value of this team’s care.”

The goal of the Blue Distinction program is to help consumers find both quality and value for their specialty care needs, while encouraging health care professionals to improve the overall quality, cost, and delivery of care nationwide.

In the past few months, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center also received distinctions from U.S. News & World Report and Healthgrades for its joint replacement program, further demonstrating the quality of care and expertise being provided throughout the region.
