Providence and Compassus complete final phase of home-based care join venture in Oregon

November 2, 2026

RENTON, Wash., and BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Providence, a not-for-profit health system serving the Western U.S., and Compassus, a leading national provider of integrated home-based care services, announced today the completion of the final phase of their joint venture for home health, hospice and community-based palliative care services in Oregon.

The joint venture will operate under the name Providence at Home with Compassus, with Compassus managing operations across 17 programs in Oregon: nine home health, six hospice and two palliative care. With the completion of this final phase, the partnership now spans five states—Oregon, Alaska, California, Texas and Washington—building on its initial launch in 2025.

Across the broader partnership, Providence and Compassus are making progress in care delivery while equipping care teams with tools and resources designed for home-based care. Specialized tools help reduce administrative burden on caregivers, allowing them to focus more of their time and attention on patients and families. In addition, hospice visits in the last days of life have increased across joint venture markets, helping more patients receive the additional support and attention they need near the end of life and providing families with greater support during an especially meaningful and difficult time.

“We’re proud to partner with Providence to build on its impactful legacy of community-based care,” said Mike Asselta, Chief Executive Officer of Compassus. “Our strong results reflect the dedication of our colleaguesdelivering care every day and our shared commitment to advancing home-based services for patients and families.”

“People let us into their homes at the most important moments of their lives, and that trust belongs to our caregivers," explained Terri Warren, Chief of Community Services at Providence. "This collaboration gives our teams the training, tools and stability to succeed, and keeps patients and families receiving care from the familiar faces they trust."
