Thanking Our Generous Community

January 26, 2024

As I get ready to celebrate my one-year anniversary with Providence in January, I want to take a moment to reflect on the blessings of the past year—and there have been many.

I am incredibly thankful for the generosity of our neighbors and for each of you. I've had the opportunity to meet many of the individuals who believe in our Mission over the past twelve months and whenever I meet someone who is interested in making a contribution, it’s because you touched their life and they felt compelled to give back. The care you provide sparks passion and a desire to help make a difference in someone else's life.

One of our donors recently returned to our Cancer Center for the first time in a year after losing her husband. Our caregivers' compassion and comfort inspired her to make a five-year pledge to support the center and other families who are in need of hope.

As a result of these sacred encounters, philanthropy made it possible for us to provide over $11 million to Memorial this year, in the form of new technology, updates to our facilities, and programs that support your resilience and wellbeing. From balloon pumps, echo machines, and an MRI upgrade to our inaugural nursing symposium, cancer research staffing and nursing resiliency seminars--there are countless more examples, including those highlighted below.

You bring light to the lives of our patients and their loved ones.

Thank you. With gratitude,
Rebecca Kendall
Chief Philanthropy Officer
