Rehabilitation therapy services also available at new facility

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — To better serve the Anchorage community’s health care needs, Providence Medical Group (PMG) is opening a new primary care clinic in Midtown Anchorage. The clinic is co-located with Providence’s first urgent care clinic in Alaska. The space also includes rehabilitative therapy services in a new therapy gym.

The clinics offer same-day, high-quality care, with primary care appointments available 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and urgent care appointments are available 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Saturday.

Located at 1200 W. Northern Lights Blvd. in the space previously occupied by REI, the clinics are part of Providence’s effort to bring care to more people, closer to where they work and live.

“Bringing primary care, urgent care and rehabilitation services to Midtown Anchorage is an important step in our commitment to providing Alaskans with more convenient, affordable care options,” said Preston M. Simmons, DSc., FACHE, chief executive of Providence Alaska. “People want care that’s available where and when they need it. Adding primary care and urgent care to other convenient options — such as ExpressCare — provides Alaskans access to the right care at the right time in the right setting.”

Providence Medical Group Primary Care Midtown offers primary care for all ages with a team of experts working together, providing care using the patient-centered medical home model to provide comprehensive primary care for children, adults and seniors. Primary care providers, pharmacists, case managers, social workers and health navigators create a care plan that fits a patient’s life and helps them achieve and maintain optimal health. Integrated behavioral health services are also provided. A free, after-hours nurse call line is available for established patients.

Providence Urgent Care Midtown offers walk-ins and same-day scheduling for urgent, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries available 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Saturday. The urgent care clinic will have capabilities including point-of-care labs and X-ray services. The clinic will be staffed with highly trained providers who are able to meet the urgent care needs of patients.

Both the primary care and urgent care clinics offer in-person appointments and easy online appointment scheduling. PMG Primary Care patients can also access online services 24/7 to message their provider, request a prescription refill, schedule an appointment and more.

PMG rehabilitative therapy services are available 7:15 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Patients can receive treatment from providers with experience in orthopedics, neurology, wellness and pelvic floor treatment.
