St. Joseph Health Medical Group, formerly Queen of the Valley Medical Associates, is excited to announce the hiring of two of its newest providers—Tawhid Gazi, MD, gastroenterologist and Daniel Gibert, DO, urologist. Both physicians are on the medical staff at Queen of the Valley Medical Center where they offer minimally invasive procedures to help their patients recover faster with less scarring and a shorter hospital stay.
Dr. Gazi was born and raised in Connecticut where his dad, also a gastroenterologist, is still in practice. He received his education from Tufts University in Boston, where he completed a residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in interventional gastroenterology. Dr. Gazi is qualified to provide a full spectrum of gastrointestinal care and is fluent in Spanish.
“I am excited to join the team at St. Joseph Health Medical Group where I can provide collaborative care to each of my patients in a warm, community environment that still offers all the cutting edge therapies of an academic center,” he said.
From routine screenings, like colonoscopies, and diagnostic procedures, like capsule endoscopy, to complex pancreatic and esophageal procedures, Dr. Gazi provides a patient-centered approach to care. He also specializes in endoscopic weight loss (Orbera) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) which achieve excellent results while sparing patients invasive surgeries.
Dr. Gilbert completed his Medical Education at Touro University California, his residency at Midwestern University and a Fellowship in Urology at the Ohio Health Dublin Methodist Hospital. Dr. Gilbert diagnoses and treats urological disorders in men and women such as kidney stones, urinary incontinence, prostate enlargement and cancers of the bladder, kidney, prostate and testicles. He partners with experts including medical and radiation oncologists, nephrologists, surgeons, primary care physicians and physical therapists to treat these complex urologic diseases.
“My goal is to identify the individual, personal needs of patients and offer the most advanced treatment options using the latest technology,” said Dr. Gilbert. “I am excited to join the St. Joseph Health team who are experts in providing forward thinking approaches and state-of-the art technology to patients.”
In partnership with Queen of the Valley Medical Center, Dr. Gilbert offers minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery for treatment of prostate, kidney and bladder cancer, urologic reconstruction and management of prostate enlargement. Additionally, Dr. Gilbert is trained to manage kidney stones of all shapes and sizes, urinary incontinence, and more using minimally invasive techniques.
