A new “Providence” sign was recently installed above the front entrance at Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is part of Providence, and the installation of this prominent sign marks the completion of incorporating the Providence name on Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital’s campus.
Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital had been part of the St. Joseph Health system and in 2016, Providence Health & Services came together with St. Joseph Health as one organization.
Anything at the hospital that had said “St. Joseph Health” now reads “Providence.” However, the hospital will still be called Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital sign remains above our front entrance.
“That is the name people in the community know and trust, and it’s important that people continue to see us as their high-quality community hospital,” said Chuck Kassis, chief executive at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. “Adding Providence to the name communicates that we are also an important part of a bigger health care network that brings a lot of value to this community.”
The Providence name was adopted to “unify around a common brand,” while the logo retains the St. Joseph Health cross. The change began in 2020 and completed on the hospital’s campus last month.
Patients and community members can expect to see new Providence signs added to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa later this month, and to Providence Medical Group and Home Health facilities later this year.
