NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the dissolution of Obstetrical Services/Childbirth Program at Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna (RMH) and consolidation of Obstetrical Services to Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka (SJE). Due to low volumes and a loss of providers at RMH, the Childbirth Program will transition to a single program at SJE and close on July 1, 2021.

This consolidation of services will not eliminate beds at RMH. All personnel will be offered comparable positions within the Obstetrics/Childbirth Program at SJE. With this consolidation of services, comparable services will be offered in the community at the following locations:

Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka – a general acute care hospital with Obstetrical and Childbirth Program, including a 5-bed, Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This facility does serve Medi-Cal, Partnership Health Plan and Medicare patients.

Mad River Community Hospital in Arcata – a general acute care hospital with Obstetrical and Childbirth Program. This facility does serve Medi-Cal and Medicare patients.

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley in Ukiah – a general acute care hospital with Obstetrical and Childbirth Program. This facility does serve Medi-Cal and Medicare patients.
