Providence to Offer Diabetes Prevention Classes in Polson

Polson, MT—Providence St. Joseph Medical Center will offer diabetes prevention classes beginning Tuesday, February 12, 2019. The classes are designed to help participants lose weight and gain confidence, establish healthy eating habits and identify healthy physical activities for each participant to enjoy.

According to the Montana Department of Health and Human Services, about 65,000 Montana adults aged 18 and older reported having diagnosed diabetes in 2016.

“Change can be tough—especially when you don’t know where to begin," explains Wanda King, diabetes coordinator at St. Joseph Medical Center. "our diabetes prevention program is a 12-month commitment that offers an opportunity to help establish lifestyle changes in a fun group-based environment.”

How to enroll in the Polson diabetes prevention program

To qualify for the program, contact your health care provider or the Montana Diabetes Prevention Program: 1-844-684-5848. Once qualified, call Wanda King 406-883-5484 to reserve your place in the class.
