Santa Rosa Memorial, Healdsburg and Petaluma Valley hospitals honored for high-quality, evidence-based treatment
Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Healdsburg Hospital and Petaluma Valley Hospital have received 2026 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke achievement awards from the American Heart Association, recognizing their commitment to high-quality, evidence-based stroke care across Sonoma County.
Stroke is a leading cause of serious disability and death in the United States. It occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted by a blocked or ruptured blood vessel, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients.
Because brain cells begin to die within minutes, rapid recognition, diagnosis and treatment are critical to reducing long-term complications and improving recovery.
All three hospitals also are certified as Advanced Primary Stroke Centers by The Joint Commission, demonstrating their ability to provide rapid, coordinated treatment that meets rigorous national quality and safety standards.
