Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital transitions inpatient pediatric unit

March 10, 2026

To Our Valued Patients and Community Members,

Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital has served the North Bay for 75 years and remains committed to meeting the needs of our community. Recently we announced that we will repurpose our inpatient pediatric unit to expand adult inpatient care capacity, where demand is significantly higher.

As we make this transition, we want to reassure parents that our emergency department will provide the same level of pediatric care that it has for the past several decades and be open to all patients, including children, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, our Providence Medical Group pediatric team and outpatient pediatric services will continue to serve most of the common health needs of families with children.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the closure of the Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Inpatient Pediatric Unit, 1165 Montgomery Dr., Santa Rosa, CA 95405 effective March 27, 2026.

The closure will not impact any inpatient beds. The eight underutilized inpatient pediatric beds will be repurposed to expand adult inpatient care capacity.

A minimal number of staff members may be impacted by the closure of the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Inpatient Pediatric Unit.  We are committed to a smooth transition for any caregivers who may be impacted by the closure. All employees who are affected by this change have been offered positions within Providence. We will continue to partner with the union representing our caregivers to support them.
