Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation Welcomes New Chief Philanthropy Officer

Santa Rosa, CA. (January 4, 2023) — Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Kendall as chief philanthropy officer.

Rebecca joins Providence on January 9, 2023, and will lead fundraising initiatives to expand health care services and programs for the residents of Sonoma County.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rebecca, whose compassionate and strategic leadership will help us continue to do great work in Santa Rosa and our surrounding communities,” said Chuck Kassis, chief executive, Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

“We’re committed to providing outstanding care in communities we serve and are inspired by those who, through philanthropy, help save lives every day,” said Kenya Beckmann, chief philanthropy and health equity officer, Providence South Division. “Rebecca’s deep connections to the community will inspire support for the people, programs and innovations needed for world-class care in Santa Rosa.”

Rebecca comes to Providence from Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, where she served for 15 years. There, Rebecca led the development and communications teams and grew annual fundraising revenue from $9M to $21M. Her tenure as chief philanthropy officer culminated with the completion of the $53M Caritas Village capital campaign, which will support replacing Catholic Charities’ aging facilities with a housing-focused service center, emergency family shelter, and 128 units of permanent affordable housing for those in need. Previous to her work at Catholic Charities Santa Rosa, Rebecca worked at the San Diego Rescue Mission.

Rebecca majored in theology at Point Loma Nazarene University and has an MBA from Sonoma State University. She lives in Santa Rosa with her husband, Jonathan, a school psychologist, and her children, Lily and Elias.
