MISSION HILLS (June 28, 2023) – Providence Holy Cross Medical Center was included today in Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2023 Great Hospitals in America list of 83 hospitals nationwide.
The Mission Hills hospital is the only hospital in the Greater San Fernando Valley and the only non-academic medical center in Southern California to make the list, one of many accolades it has received over the past year.
“Being counted among some of the finest hospitals in the nation is an incredible honor,” said Rex Hoffman, M.D., chief medical officer, Providence Holy Cross. “It’s gratifying to note Becker’s cited our brand of whole person care, recognizing our efforts to truly know our patients and honor their cultures, their preferences and their individual needs in providing care.”
Earlier this year, Providence Holy Cross was recognized for the fourth straight year as one of Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals. In March, the hospital earned the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award for the third time, ranking it in the top 5% of the nation’s hospitals for safety. Last year, its numerous accolades from U.S. News & World Report included national rankings for orthopedics and obstetrics and gynecology.
“Each and every person here contributes to the high level of quality and commitment to our patients and their families,” Dr. Hoffman said. “The leadership empowers our staff to continually look for ways to improve. The teamwork is exemplary.”
Providence Holy Cross has been recognized as a Magnet Hospital having received its fourth four-year designation in 2021. Magnet is the nation’s highest recognition for nursing excellence and the hospital’s tenure places it among the top 5% in the U.S. for quality nursing care.
