Redmond, WA (June 1, 2020): Providence ElderPlace, a care system for older adults that combines healthcare and social services in one place, is expanding its Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) to serve residents of South Snohomish County. This innovative program offers medical care, long-term care and social services to seniors who wish to continue to live in the community, thus avoiding or minimizing stays in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Eligible residents in the new service area can begin enrolling on June 1, 2020.
Providence ElderPlace will now start serving residents who live in Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Brier, Edmonds and the Snohomish County parts of Woodinville and Bothell. They will be served at Providence ElderPlace’s Redmond center at 8632 160th Ave NE. Providence ElderPlace provides transportation from each individual’s residence to the ElderPlace center for medical and social services.
"We are happy to be able to expand our service area to serve low-income seniors who live in the southern part of Snohomish County,” said Providence ElderPlace Executive Director Susan Tuller. "The amazing thing about Providence ElderPlace is that we can stabilize our vulnerable senior population and keep them healthy in the community, which is where they want to be.”
Providence ElderPlace, which serves more than 900 seniors in its system, continues to expand its service area to meet the growing needs of seniors who want to be able to age in place in their communities of choice. Providence ElderPlace runs five full-service centers in King County and is opening a new center in Spokane on June 1. Each includes a full medical clinic with a geriatrician, registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, in addition to offering social programs. New enrollments are welcome.
Providence ElderPlace’s PACE program in Washington currently provides:
- Primary and specialty medical care
- Nursing care
- Occupational, physical and speech therapies
- Social workers
- Family and caregiver support
- In-home personal care services
- Prescriptions and over-the-counter medications
Eligible individuals must be age 55 and over, in need of assistance with activities of daily living as determined by the state of Washington, and be able to live safely in a community setting.
