Smooth hospital operations continue as care for some pregnant clinic patients shifts to other providers

Providence Women’s Clinic continues to see a reduced number of patients while its providers participate in a work stoppage called by the Oregon Nurses Association. Because of the lack of a replacement workforce for striking physicians, starting this week, care for approximately 45 near-term pregnant patients will be permanently transferred to non-Providence Women’s Clinic providers. Patients do not need to take any action. We’re contacting affected individuals and will ensure all patients continue to receive care.

Providence sincerely thanks the Oregon health systems, community partners and other providers who are stepping up to provide care for our pregnant patients.

Operations at all eight Providence Oregon hospitals continue to run smoothly. Providence hospitals have notified our nurse staffing partners that we will require their support for the coming weeks and potentially months as the strikes continue.

Our continued focus is on providing safe, high-quality care for the Oregon communities we serve.
