Living Well with Mantle Cell Lymphoma

Join Providence medical oncologist and hematology expert Janet Ruzich, D.O., and oncology social worker Adell Lenart, LCSW, on April 19 for Living Well with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. This free, virtual education event is presented by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in partnership with Providence Cancer Institute of Oregon.

The program is designed for Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) patients and their caregivers, family and friends. Attendees will learn essential information to participate more actively and confidently in decisions about MCL treatment and survivorship, such as:

  • Standard care and clinical trials
  • Strategies to make informed decisions about treatment
  • Tips for communicating with your health care team
  • Strategies to manage disease and treatment side effects
  • The impact of COVID-19 and vaccinations
  • Strategies for managing ongoing cancer survivorship issues, including financial and employment challenges, as well as psychosocial issues
  • Resources available in your local community, at cancer centers and those provided by LLS

About the presenters

Dr. Janet Ruzich is a medical oncologist with Providence Cancer Institute of Oregon. She has a special interest in breast cancer, lymphomas and other hematologic malignancies. Dr. Ruzich has treated patients with indolent and aggressive lymphomas, myeloma and chronic leukemias throughout her career. She is a 2022 candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Women of the Year, a philanthropic campaign to raise funds for research and support programs for patients with blood cancer.

 

Adell Lenart, LCSW, provides oncology social work services to people receiving care for blood cancer at Providence Cancer Institute of Oregon. In her career of more than 30 years, she has focused on medical social work, providing counseling and resource assistance to patients, their families and caregivers. Adell values the opportunity to work with people as they adjust and grow in response to their cancer diagnosis, and to provide support, education, advocacy and care coordination.
