We are proud to announce that Dr. Corey White, a Neurology Specialist from Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash. is our latest LifeSaver Award winner!

Dr. White was nominated by several members of LifeCenter Northwest’s clinical staff, who explained how his kindness, compassion and collaboration have been crucial to numerous successful donation cases.

According to Nikole Lewis, a LifeCenter Organ Recovery Coordinator II, Dr. White was extremely welcoming during a recent organ donation case.

“He was completely open to having a conversation regarding LifeCenter’s needs, he was extremely knowledgeable about the hospital’s policies around brain death testing and he also wrote the most detailed notes I have ever seen,” Nikole said. “He continued to check in with LifeCenter daily and updated other physicians as well. It was a privilege to work with him!”

Maudie Jordan, a LifeCenter Hospital Development Program Manager, has been impressed by Dr. White’s profound commitment to donation.

“From the first time I met Dr. White, he instantly made me feel welcome,” Maudie explained. “He also wanted to do anything he could to help further our relationship and help save more lives. I have been told repeatedly by my colleagues that Dr. White always goes above and beyond to assist our staff and his actions show just how much he believes in the healing power of organ donation.”

For Sarah Jeter, an Organ Recovery Coordinator at LifeCenter, Dr. White’s positive attitude and flexibility makes him a truly exemplary partner.

“Every time I’ve had a case at St Pete’s, I know I can depend on Dr. White. He always meets me with a smile and answers all my questions before I even have to ask them,” Sarah said. “He is more than accommodating to help with procedures and any management issues I may be having with a patient. He is by far one of my favorite physicians to work with, and he deserves every accolade bestowed on him.”

For his part, Dr. White said that collaborating with LifeCenter has been a very fulfilling part of his work at the hospital.

“Working in the Neuro-ICU, in collaboration with LifeCenter Northwest, I’m privileged to see families grieving from the most devastating events find some solace through the donation process in honoring their loved one with such an altruistic decision,” said Dr. White.

Thanks to Dr. White, Providence St. Peter’s relationship with LifeCenter Northwest and donation culture has flourished—which directly translates to saving lives. As such, LifeCenter Northwest is proud to honor Dr. White with our LifeSaver Award!
