Get your child caught up on their wellness visits

Make sure they are healthy and have the vaccinations needed for the next school year.

The pandemic made it difficult to schedule in-person well-child visits. As we continue to recover and return to in-person activities, it is important to get caught up on your child’s wellness visits.

For a wellness visit, make an appointment with your child’s doctor, or find a doctor near you. During the appointment, your child’s doctor will make sure they are meeting all the important growth and development milestones, screen for illnesses, and ensure your child is up to date with their routine vaccinations.

How should you prepare for a well-child visit?

To get the most out of your child’s appointment, write down the following to discuss with the doctor:

  • Changes in their health and development
  • Changes in social behaviors
  • Your child’s eating habits
  • Any questions or concerns
  • Any important information shared by your child’s caregivers or teachers

What are the required vaccinations?

Here are the required vaccinations for the 2022-23 school year. Getting caught up now will make it easier to make sure your child is ready for the 2023-24 school year.

During your appointment, your child’s doctor will have access to their vaccination record, but if you want to view their vaccination status on your own, you can access that information through the Washington State Department of Health.
