Providence Mission Hospital recently celebrated an exciting milestone with the opening of the Kathy Williams Family Health Center in Rancho Mission Viejo. The event marked more than the debut of a beautiful new facility. It reflected a shared commitment to meeting the growing health care needs of South Orange County and bringing high-quality, compassionate care closer to where families live, work and thrive.
As Rancho Mission Viejo and surrounding communities continue to grow, so does the need for convenient access to trusted medical care. The Kathy Williams Family Health Center was designed with that future in mind. By bringing together primary care, specialty care, urgent care and, later this year, a comprehensive imaging center, the facility offers a more connected and convenient experience for South County residents. It is another important step in making care easier to access, closer to home.
Providence Mission Hospital has served South Orange County for decades, growing alongside the communities it supports. The opening of this new health center represents an important step in the hospital’s broader commitment to expanding access and strengthening care beyond the hospital walls. It is part of a continued investment in the health and well-being of the region.
Facilities like this help bring quality care into the neighborhoods where people need it most. They support healthier families, earlier access to treatment and a more seamless patient experience, while also helping ensure hospital resources remain focused on those who need the highest level of care. The new center reflects what is possible when vision, collaboration and community support come together.
The opening celebration also recognized the many people and partners who helped bring this vision to life. Among them were Mission Hospital leaders, the physicians and caregivers of Providence Mission Heritage Medical Group, architects, designers, construction teams and project managers, as well as the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, whose legacy continues to inspire the organization’s mission. Providence Mission Hospital is also deeply grateful to its philanthropic partners and donor community, whose generosity is helping shape the future of health care in the region.
The celebration brought together physician and caregiver partners from Mission Heritage Medical Group, Providence and Mission Hospital executive leadership, members of the Hospital and Foundation Boards, and community leaders from across the region. Guests included Jeremy Laster, President and CEO of Rancho Mission Viejo; Tony Moiso, Chairman of Rancho Mission Viejo; Sister Kit Gray and Sister Thuy Tran of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange; members of the Providence Mission Hospital donor community; Assemblymember Kate Sanchez for California Assembly District 71; Rancho Santa Margarita Mayor Pro Tempore Anne Figueroa, Laguna Niguel Mayor Gene Johns, and representatives from the offices of Senator Catherine Blakespear and Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley.
The Kathy Williams Family Health Center stands as a symbol of Providence Mission Hospital’s continued commitment to serve South Orange County with excellence, compassion and vision. For the community, it means greater access to care in a setting designed to support health and healing. For everyone who gathered to celebrate its opening, it was a meaningful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community invests in the future of local health care.
