A Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence

September 30, 2024

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes for every patient at every stage of a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Our patients have access to a multidisciplinary team of experts and a full range of support services.

“Receiving a pancreatic cancer diagnosis can be terrifying,” says Babak “Bobby” Eghbalieh, MD, FACS, medical director of hepatobiliary services at Providence Holy Cross. “But with early diagnosis and the right treatment plan, we can significantly improve outcomes.”

Through his compassionate leadership, excellent people skills and wise resource management, Dr. Eghbalieh helped Providence Holy Cross earn a designation as a Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence from the National Pancreas Foundation, the only Providence hospital in the Los Angeles area to receive this distinction.

Our comprehensive pancreatic cancer program includes a wide range of specialty-specific groups that encompass the entire spectrum of cancer care, including hepatobiliary pancreatic surgeons, advanced gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, dedicated pathologists, a nurse navigator, and more.

“Being named a Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence allows us to offer leading-edge care that can help save lives,” explains Dr. Eghbalieh. “I am very proud of the amazing team we have at Providence Holy Cross.” Our cancer program is recognized by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer for providing exemplary cancer care.
