Thousands of cyclists and walkers came together to celebrate summer, stay active and enjoy Portland from a unique perspective during the 30th annual Providence Bridge Pedal. The event brought more than 10,000 participants of all ages onto car-free routes across some of the city's most iconic bridges.

Whether participants were experienced cyclists or first-time riders, Providence Bridge Pedal offered routes designed for every age and ability. Options ranged from Kids Pedal, a free ride for young cyclists, to longer routes featuring multiple bridge crossings and scenic views of Portland.
The event created an opportunity for families, friends and neighbors to spend time together while enjoying physical activity and exploring the city in a safe, welcoming environment.

Supporting heart health for local youth

Bridge Pedal also supports a larger mission. A portion of each registration benefits Providence Heart Institute's Play Smart program, which provides free heart screenings for youth ages 12 to 18.

Since 2012, Play Smart has delivered more than 40,000 free screenings to help identify hidden heart conditions that could place young athletes at risk during physical activity. Thanks to community support, screenings remain free and do not require insurance.

By combining recreation, community connection and preventive health, Providence Bridge Pedal continues to make a positive impact long after the ride ends.
