Exercise offers much more than physical health, it can help reduce stress and anxiety. Now a new study out of Columbia University Medical Center in New York City shows that regular exercise can also lower levels of depression, hostility and other negative feelings.
The study results, which were published this month in Health Psychology, are timely. As we navigate the daily emotional ups and downs caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we need healthy tools to help us manage our moods. According to the study, a moderate aerobic routine, such as walking, jogging or bicycling even a few times a week can help.
