Providence St. Joseph Hospital has been awarded as one of America’s best maternity hospitals by Newsweek. Over 10,000 medical professionals were asked to participate in the study. Only 384 winners were recognized on the Best Maternity Hospitals 2023 list.
"It is a true honor to be recognized as one of the best hospitals in the nation for maternity care,” said Chief Nursing Officer Michelle Genova, MSN, NEA-BC.
Presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., this prestigious award is the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
This recognition is an affirmation of the high standard of care we provide, and an honor held by each colleague on our women’s maternal services team.” According to Genova, “Our maternity program focuses on a compassionate, patient-centered approach to ensure the best experience for both mother and baby. I’m particularly proud of our dedicated nurses who work side-by-side with an expert team of obstetricians and specialists—all of whom are committed to ensuring a superior level of care for expecting women.”
Providence St. Joseph Hospital offers state of the art, compassionate care and a personalized, family-centered approach to the birthing experience. The hospital is fully equipped with the latest technology and expert specialists to manage high-risk pregnancies. In partnership with CHOC Children’s, the unit operates a NICU, located on the same floor as our Mother-Baby Unit. The hospital also features a Transitional Care Unit and a Step Down Unit for mothers or newborns who require extra attention.
Three data sources were used for the study including a nationwide online survey, medical key performance indicators focusing on maternity care and results from patient surveys. The awards list can be viewed on Newsweek’s website.
