Shipment companies deliver needed medical supplies to remote communities

“When the Providence Alaska foundation reached out to us, needing masks and face shields delivered to Kodiak, we acted very quickly and we were aware that there was a COVID case,” said Dylan Faber, with Matson’s community affairs.

Providence has been preparing for the novel coronavirus to reach its remote communities in Alaska and when Kodiak had its first and only confirmed case, PPE was requested for expedited shipping. A shipment of supplies arrived at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in less than 15 hours after the request was made for face shields and masks.
