Providence Mount Carmel Hospital ranks among the top 100 rural health care providers in the nation, according to a new evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. It is the only Washington hospital to earn this honor in 2023.

This is the third year in a row that the Colville hospital has been recognized.

“This honor is possible because of our experienced, compassionate caregivers. Our community is safer, and healthier because of their commitment,” said Providence Mount Carmel Hospital Chief Administrative Officer Ron Rehn.

Now in its 13th year, the INDEX has established itself as the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Leveraging publicly available data, the INDEX is trusted to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

Providence Mount Carmel Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access hospital that serves a three-county area in Northeast Washington.
