St. Pat's pauses new non-urgent/non-emergent procedures and surgeries requiring inpatient admit

Sept. 9, 2021

In response to the current COVID-19 surge, Providence St. Patrick leadership, along with Infectious Disease experts, operational leaders, and with input from our Medical Advisory Council and other physician leaders, the decision was made to initiate a pause on scheduling new non-urgent/non-emergent procedures and surgeries that would require an inpatient admission, through September 27.

All currently scheduled patients requiring inpatient admission will NOT be impacted by this decision and will remain on the schedule, at this time. However, no new cases will be actively added. Inpatient bed availability and cases will continue to be evaluated daily and there are no plans to change this policy until September 27.

All procedures and surgeries that don’t require inpatient admission will continue as normal at this time.
