Providence Alaska House is a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) project designed to address the needs of elders with significant health conditions who are experiencing homelessness.

Located at 4900 Eagle St. in Anchorage, this project is the first phase of a multi-year development. The first phase of the development is a four-story residential building with 51 studio units.

Additional spaces include support space for social services, such as case management consult rooms; a reception area; administrative and service provider offices; exam rooms; and a computer lab area. A common laundry area and gathering spaces will also be included.  

Providence Supportive Housing (PSH) engaged with a wide variety of service providers and partners to bring this project to life. Service providers include: 

  • Southcentral Foundation
  • Cook Inlet Tribal Council
  • Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness; and  
  • Catholic Social Services

The total development budget for this first phase 51-unit PSH project is $18.9 million, funded by generous contributions from funding partners, which include:    

  • Alaska Housing Finance Corporation;
  • State of Alaska, Community Development Program;
  • Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority
  • Cook Inlet Housing Authority
  • Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines
  • Municipality of Anchorage
  • Rasmuson Foundation;  
  • United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; and 
  • Weidner Apartment Homes.  

Construction of Providence Alaska House will be completed in July 2024. Tenants will be able to move in immediately after completion.
