Mission Fidelity Assessment In 2021, we concluded a Mission Fidelity Assessment locally, regionally, and across the health system. As a result, we implemented action plans to address the oppor tunities for improvement identified in the assessment. The South Bay 's two improvement oppor tunities and subsequent actions focused on: 1) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, which launched in early 2022, and 2) increasing education and awareness around our Ethics, including the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Ser vices, the bioethics advisor y committee, and our ethics consultation ser vice. As par t of this, we have provided training sessions, which will continue throughout 2022, and distributed a practice aler t in October 2021 Supporting our Caregivers and Community Our Mission calls us to be expressions of God 's healing love and remain steadfast in ser ving all, especially the poor and vulnerable. In addition to being par t of our mission statement, it is an operational tenet of our South Bay ministries and is exemplified by the many programs we provide to help our community. One program stands out as it is born out of the generosity of our caregivers, Gifts from the Heart. This annual program identifies families within our community, including our own ministries, that are less for tunate, and encourages all depar tments to "adopt " these families for Christmas by providing necessities and fulfilling special wishes. Fueled by the over whelming generosity of our caregivers, medical and executive staff, volunteers, and Community Ministr y and Foundation Board members, we provided a special holiday for 30 of our own caregiver families, 12 Community Benefit/Welcome Baby program families, and 38 community agency families from Our Lady of Guadalupe church, St. Catharine Laboure School, Harbor Inter faith Ser vices, and the House of Yahweh Shelter. It is such an incredible experience to see our Center for Health Education Center filled with gifts, toys, appliances, food, and other necessities intended for those families in need. Helping to get gift boxes into the cars of the recipients. CHE was filled with gifts for the families. 18 strENGtHEN tHE COrE
